Do I need an appointment for an examination?

Yes, please call to schedule an appointment.

 

Does Dr. Lozada have my previous examination records?

Dr. Lozada does not have any of your medical records.  At least 30 days in advance, please ask for copies of your two most recent examinations, including any specialty tests, to bring to your appointment.

 

Is Dr. Lozada on my insurance plan?

Please refer to the Services page then call to ask about your specific insurance.

 

Are contact lenses available?

Yes, an inventory of sample contact lenses is available for patients to try.

 

Are eye glasses available?

Yes, an inventory of frames is available for patients to try.

 

How long does it take to have glasses made?

Most eye glasses are ready within 7-10 business days.

 

Is a Binocular Vision Disorder rare?

Diagnosing a patient with BVD happens daily and most patients are unaware of their condition.

 

How do I know if my eyes need prismatic lenses?

Please refer to the BVD page and if anything sounds familiar, you may be able to benefit from prismatic lenses.

 

How difficult is it to adapt to prismatic lenses?

Adapting to prismatic lenses tends to be instant.

 

Does 0.01% Atropine have side effects?

Some patients may benefit from sunglasses, but most have no noticeable side effects.

 

Are contact lenses just as effective as eye drops for myopia control?

Yes, reduction in myopia progression is in the 50% to 60% range for both.

 

How long is myopia control needed?

Myopia progression does not stop until growing stops around age 18.  A minimum length of treatment would be 5 years.
